Get it right at home
How to measure your foot
All you need is a sheet of paper, a pen and a ruler. It takes about two minutes.
Set up
Place a sheet of paper flat against a wall on a hard floor. Wear the socks you'd normally pair with the shoes you're buying.
Stand and trace
Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall, putting your full weight on the foot so it spreads naturally, then trace around it.
Mark and measure
Mark the tip of your longest toe and the back of your heel, then measure the straight-line distance between the two in centimetres.
Match your size
Measure both feet, use the larger reading, and match it to the foot-length column in the chart above to find your ShoesHub size.
Little things, big difference
Tips for the perfect fit
A few habits the pros swear by to land the right size first time.
Between sizes? Size up
If your measurement falls between two sizes, go for the larger one. A touch of room is far comfier than a shoe that pinches.
Measure in the evening
Feet swell a little through the day, so measuring in the evening gives you the truest, most comfortable fit.
Mind the width
Length isn't everything. If you have broad feet, look for roomier or wide-fit styles so the shoe never feels tight across the toes.
Match your socks
Measure and try shoes with the sock thickness you'll actually wear — thick winter socks need a touch more space than thin ones.
The finer details
Getting the right fit
A great-fitting shoe should feel secure around the heel and midfoot while leaving a little wiggle room at the toes — about a thumb's width between your longest toe and the front of the shoe. Your foot shouldn't slide forward when you walk, and the widest part of your foot should sit comfortably at the widest part of the shoe.
Remember that the same numbered size can fit differently across styles. A running shoe, a formal leather shoe and a chunky sneaker are all built on different shapes, so always sanity-check against your foot length rather than relying on the number alone.
- Always measure both feet — most people have one slightly larger, so size to the bigger one.
- Break them in gently — wear new shoes around the house first to let them settle to your feet.
- Still unsure? Our 7-day returns mean you can try at home with total peace of mind.
